Cambodia Development Research Institute or CADE was established on January 24, 2011 by a group of graduates, lecturers and experts who are specializing in economics, rural development, management and commerce.

This institution is the gathering of high skill intellectuals who have worked for various domains and organizations as consultant and contractor. Aiming at improving the service outcome, we decided to establish the research institute comprising of skillful taskforce that earned a ton of experiences combining with high academic background.

Cambodia Development Research Institute, approved to be registered at the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia with its official letter No. 322 SCN dated on March 02, 2011, is a local, independent, non-profit and non-political non-governmental organization.

Objectives

Cambodia Development Research Institute is aimed at (i) studying, disseminating and sharing views regarding economic issues and development in Cambodia, (ii) cooperating  with public, private and non-governmental sectors to implement research, using findings and provide recommendations, in order to build a strong foundation for sustainable economic development; (iii) developing ability of Cambodian students and practitioners to research so that they can contribute to the development of the education quality in Cambodia; and (iv) contributing to training Cambodian human resources in the fields of economics, rural development, management, finance  and commerce.

Activities

Cambodia Development Research Institute is expected to conduct organizing training and presentation regarding research to Cambodian university students at the higher education institutions in Cambodia as well as debate forums on Cambodian economic issues and development by cooperating with the media, cooperating with organizations, development partners, private and public sectors in the implementation of research projects, publishing economics and commercial books such as economics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, development economics, international economics, agricultural economics, monetary economics, banking, community development, human resource management, financial management, project management, marketing, communication skills, entrepreneurship, leadership, dispute resolution, inventory management and tourism, and other publications; and exploratory trips for local economic research.

Experience

Cambodia Development Research Institute’s director and consultants were have experienced in various research processes, monitoring and evaluation projects, including the impact of the economic crisis 2008 on the garment industry in Cambodia, development, vulnerability of poor rural people whose livelihoods are dependent on natural resources, microfinance services demand; and sub-national governance.
